Recently I heard that in order to grow your business, you need to be attending two networking events per week. Gulp!
You’ve probably been told about BNI events, well I’d like to share with you a couple of networking groups just for business women.

The above can be helpful for female entrepreneurs, but we mumpreneurs have more challenges.
Juggling a business with looking after kids and the family home is daunting, let alone attending a 7am power breakfast, yikes, even the dog is still asleep.
Many of these networking events just don’t fit in with our work-life, or school-life balance or even affordable for most mums.
So how can mumpreneurs get their business message out there?
I think I can help you.
In creating Life Balance Coach I found myself in a similar struggle, but thanks to the age of social media, I’ve found three online platforms you might like to consider.
- LinkedIn – find potential customers through making connections, commenting in groups or on blog posts. Offer to help them with your products or services but not bombard them.
- Facebook – closed Facebook groups where you can offer your services, share business tips or form partnerships with other business owners or potential clients. My current haunts are Ultimate Business Support, SHEentrepreneur, Sydney Small Business and Awesomepreneurs.
- Meetups.com – there are meetups for every type of business and in every area of Sydney. When you join, you have the opportunity to virtually connect with the other group members. You might like to arrange a Skype session or invite them to connect with you on Facebook. In terms of offline networing, definitely finding a local meetup group close to home.
Whilst these online sites have been really beneficial for boosting my business, I still miss the face to face contact, and connection with other like minded business professionals.
If you feel the same way then …
Why not start your own networking group through Meetups or a discussion group through LinkedIN?
Remember, every person to person interaction is a chance to informally network. A supermarket shop, school drop off or pick up, walking the dog or getting your morning latte are all opportunities to tell people about your business.
Now I’d love to hear your networking stories. Why not leave a comment below telling us what networking opportunity has benefited your business.
